| Kyle M. hit the first home run in program history, but it wasn't enough as Rainier Christian pulled away from a close 2-1 contest in their half of the fifth inning to send the Mt. Rainier Lutheran baseball team to their first defeat, 13-1. Zac L. (1-1) took the loss despite pitching 4 1/3 solid innings, striking out eight and walking two. | The Mt. Rainier Lutheran High School baseball program got off to a great start with a doubleheader sweep of Lummi at the Hawks home field at Stewart Heights Park. MRLH won the first game in program history, 11-1, and then took back end of the double-dip, 5-3. In the opener, Zac L. (1-0) gave up one hit and no earned runs in going the full five innings, striking out 13 of the 15 batters he faced. Kyle M. provided all the offense the Hawks would need, going 1-2 (bases loaded triple) with 4 RBI's, while scoring two runs. In the second game, Kyle M. got the win on the mound (1-0), while Garett C. pitched the final three innings for his first save. Jeremy L. led the Hawk hit parade, going 3-3 with a run scored, and both Kyle M. and Garett C. had two hits apiece. The Hawks next game is Tuesday at Rainier Christian. | The Sea-Tac 1B All-League basketball teams were announced today and several Mt. Rainier Lutheran Hawks received honors from the league coaches. Only MRLH athletes are listed below (unless otherwise noted).
